Level One: Industry Introduction

Whether you are an absolute beginner taking your very first steps in front of the camera, or an experienced performer looking to refresh your on-camera confidence, this practical workshop is designed for you.

With multiple local and international screen productions filming across the region, developing your technical on-camera skills is essential. This workshop breaks down the mechanics of working on a professional set, simplifies the digital self-tape process, and gives you the tools to present yourself effectively on screen.

What You Will Learn:

Technical On-Camera Skills & Self-Taping

• The Technical Setup: How to frame, light, and capture high-quality sound using everyday devices at home.

• Execution: Mastering backgrounds, framing requirements, and working effectively with a reader.

• Digital Delivery: Best practices for labeling, exporting, and uploading video files cleanly to industry databases.

Screen Presentation & Practical Exercises

• On-Camera Technique: Understanding eye lines, marks, and adjusting your performance for close-ups versus wide shots.

• Simulated Screen Tests: Participate in practical, mock on-camera exercises to get comfortable in front of the camera.

• Constructive Review: Receive individual critique and supportive feedback on your screen presentation.

The Industry Basics

• Who’s Who: A simple, beginner-friendly look at how the industry works, from agents and casting directors to the crew behind the scenes on set.

• The Digital Tools: An introduction to standard casting platforms where talent profiles are viewed.

• Next Steps: Basic tips on how to keep your photos updated and how to practice your new screen skills at home.

Investment: $200 + GST (plus processing fees)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Tamblyn Academy of Personal Development & Modelling reserve the right to change/postpone class times and dates, due to unforeseen circumstances. Your position in the class will be transferred to another suitable date and time. A refund is only due should the course not be rescheduled. If course is postponed due to Covid -19 reasons, the course position is transferred to another course date. No refunds are permitted.

2. Payments made online will be subject to an online processing fees

3.. Refunds will not be given if you change your mind or make a wrong selection. Refunds may be given if Tamblyn School of Personal Development & Modelling is unable to deliver service offered as stated in clause 1. Any refunds will not include refunded processing fees.

5. Course fees paid may be held in credit for use towards lessons of the same value within six (6) months of deposit payment providing two (2) weeks notice of inability to attend has been received in writing in advance of the course. Covid illness, no minimum notice required.

6. Failure to notify Tamblyn School of Personal Development & Modelling of inability to attend in accordance with the above terms and conditions, will result in forfeiture of monies paid and of the right to transfer to an alternative course date.

Enrollment and participation in our personal development and grooming courses are completely voluntary, are not a condition of agency representation, and do not guarantee placement or employment with Tamblyn Management.
